Phillips/Pilkington Architects prepared a feasibility report for the SAHT site at Mortimer Terrace, Brighton. The final option presents 10 houses, 6 detached for WACHA and 2 pairs of attached houses for the SAHT. The site has a number of significant trees which have been retained due to the sensitive design solution. The detached houses were set on their southern boundaries to maximise the northern aspect of their private outdoor space. The houses have a wide north verandah to maximise passive solar heating in winter and provide summer sun control. The attached paired housing are designed to maximise north facing living space with bedrooms located to the south.
