ST COLUMBA COLLEGE GYM, ANDREWS FARM, SA

Phillips/Pilkington Architects were engaged by St Columba College to design a new community Gymnasium with an International size basketball court, kindergym, weights training facility, staff offices and changeroom facilities. The project was a joint venture project funded by a communities working together grant, bringing together St Columba College, Andrews Farm Community Preschool and the City of Playford. Using a clever arrangement of Precast concrete panels, the Gymnasium has a distinctive facade that allows large amounts of daylight into the main hall to enhance sporting conditions. Internally the ancillary spaces are designed around a central foyer and servery that provides flexibility for the kindergym or community based events.
